Strength in Voices is the vision for what comes next.
A future where survivors—particularly Indigenous women—can find safe, compassionate, and culturally respectful spaces to be heard, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.
Healing does not have to happen in silence.
WHAT IS STRENGTH IN VOICES?
Strength in Voices is a developing peer-led support initiative created with survivors in mind.
The vision is to create welcoming spaces where survivors can share experiences, learn about healthy relationships and abuse, access resources, reconnect with culture, and begin rebuilding their lives.
The program is intended to be guided by trauma-informed and culturally respectful practices, with opportunities for peer support, cultural teachings, sharing, and community connection.
The goal is simple:
To help survivors feel heard.
To help survivors feel supported.
To help survivors remember their strength.
❤️ WHAT THE CIRCLES MAY INCLUDE
The developing Strength in Voices program may include:
- Peer-led support circles
- Survivor storytelling and shared experiences
- Indigenous cultural teachings
- Elder and Knowledge Keeper guidance
- Sharing circles
- Trauma education
- Healthy relationships and dating
- Recognizing warning signs and patterns of abuse
- Safety planning
- Victim rights and advocacy information
- Community resources
- Self-care and rebuilding
- Opportunities for connection and healing
Every survivor's journey is different.
The purpose is not to tell someone what they should do.
It is to create a space where they can explore their options safely and make informed choices for themselves.
