STRENGTH IN VOICES

Peer-Led Support & Cultural Healing Circles

A safe space to be heard. A place to heal. A community to rebuild.

Strength in Voices is a vision for a compassionate, culturally respectful peer-support space for survivors of domestic violence—particularly Indigenous women.

The goal is simple:

No survivor should have to feel alone.

WHAT WE OFFER

Strength in Voices is designed around:

  • 🤍 Peer-led support — survivors supporting survivors
  • 🌿 Cultural healing — space for cultural teachings, ceremony and connection
  • 🗣️ Sharing circles — an opportunity to be heard without judgment
  • 🧭 Safety planning — practical tools for taking the next safe step
  • 💛 Healing and empowerment — rebuilding confidence, identity and hope
  • 📚 Resources and education — information about healthy relationships, warning signs, victim rights and available supports

OUR APPROACH

The program is envisioned as a weekly support group facilitated by trained survivors and guided by Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers.

Sessions may include storytelling, resource sharing, trauma education, Medicine Wheel teachings, smudging, sharing circles and workshops focused on healing and empowerment.

You don't have to speak to belong.

Sometimes silence speaks volumes. Every survivor deserves to be welcomed, respected and given space to move at their own pace.

❤️ WHY STRENGTH IN VOICES?

Leaving abuse is not the end of the journey.

There can be fear, grief, isolation, financial challenges, housing concerns, shame and the difficult work of rebuilding a life.

Strength in Voices is being created to help survivors remember:

Your Voice Matters.

Your experience matters.
Your safety matters.
Your life matters.

🌸 OUR VISION

To create a community where survivors can:

Be heard.
Be believed.
Be supported.
Reconnect.
Heal.
Rebuild.
Choose themselves.
